Chan joined the gym on July 2011. He jokes that when he first came to the gym he was very unhealthy and down. He wasn’t fat but he had no toned muscles, he had no abs, and he could hardly hold a plank for more than 20s. The main goal Chan had at that time was to get healthier, improve strength and endurance, get generally fitter and bigger.
He is happy with the results he reached so far. He says that a well tailored programme that Marc designed for him was a great start. It would have been hard to get so far without the help from the knowledgeable thirtysevendegrees gym team. Getting training tips and advice from the instructors made Chan understand much more about his own body and that was a very important key for success. Also he gives a great score for Abs mini classes. Thanks to them he’s got a very strong core now and pilates classes that he attends elsewhere are not that challenging any more as it used to be.
For people who are just starting their training Chan advices: ‘Start light, do not over push yourself because you will loose motivation and won’t reach your goals. You must have fun in the gym! So challenge yourself but start slowly and work your way up. And one more thing: don’t be scared to ask for advice! Even if you have the most stupid question in the world go to the fitness team and ask them because that will help you a lot!
Chan has been training hard for a year and a half now, he’s fitness level has changed for the better much more than before but he is still on the way to his main goal – a well proportioned gymnast body.
